This is me, Elaine, mom, granny and wife and soup-maker. I live in the country in a house we purchased with some of our kids, which is the very best thing ever. Two of my grandsons, two of my grand-girlies and four of my kids are right here, laughing at the dinner table nearly every night. The other two kids, along with their spouses, a two more grandchildren are not quite so nearby but always in my heart.
My parents came from opposite sides of the world so naturally they moved to a third continent where I grew up, in Bolivia. When I was 16 I moved back to Canada for a while. Then to Europe for a year. Later to North Africa for 15 years, where I raised my four robust children and tended a garden in the desert, defying the odds by digging a well and discovering that roses grow well, and rapidly, in 40C. I started writing when I was 10 years old and am one of those writers who will keep writing even if no one has a notion to read it. I hope what I have written will take you somewhere new and bless your growth with a little bit of unraveling and a whole lot of beauty. My favourite things include raindrops on roses (of course), giggles from children, drinking coffee in a flower garden, reading a good book especially if children are involved, walking in the snow to get my mail from across the road, and riding a bike downhill. If you want a few more vignette insights into who I am, check out the pictures on the home page. There is a little maze of glimpses into some of the corners of my life. Or, read my books and you will get a whole panorama! |
